Woodstone Farm

Friendly farm animals & Kiwi hospitality at its finest

Loading...

Woodstone Farm boasts an authentic feel, with a convenient location just off the main road 6km out of Te Anau. This 220-acre support farm packs a heap of character to give guests a taste of Southern farm life – including a chance to meet some of the friendliest – and cutest – locals, meet a local farmer, watch a sheep shearing & working dog demo & learn on NZ farming (the best in the world!).

Meet the locals!

Friendly Farm Animals

Arrive and be welcomed by a rag-tag bunch of friendly farm animals. For various reason, each animal here has needed to be hand-reared, so they are not only use to human interaction, but they thoroughly enjoy it. They are happy for a scratch under the chin, a handful of nuts, or just happy to have their picture taken. Check out the Woodstone Gallery for more!

Sheep Shearing, Working Dog & Farm Talk

The Woolshed

The 100-year old Woolshed has been fully restored with its rustic character on full display. Hosted visits include a sheep shearing & working dog demonstration as well as a chance to sit down with a REAL farmer and learn a bit (or a lot!) about the history of farming in NZ, where the industry is now, animal welfare, land management and so much more.

New Zealand produces the cleanest, greenest food in the world, and our farmers are proud of the products they produce, as well as, how well they look after the land, waterways, and animals.

During these chats, you’ll get some facts and figures, but also the opinions and personal stories of the farmer that grew up here – which always includes a few laughs too!
